Carol Jean Mitchell, 84, of Columbia, SC, died Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born July 24, 1936, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Cecil Wilson Andrews.

Prior to her retirement, Ms. Mitchell was employed for Travelers Insurance for fifteen years and Wells Fargo Bank for 8 years. Most recently, she worked part time for CVS Pharmacy. Ms. Mitchell loved to sing and formerly sang in her church choir. She enjoyed being outside in nature, especially when she had the opportunity to witness her favorite creatures, birds, butterflies, and lady bugs.

She is survived by her children, L. Shaw Mitchell (Jacqueline) of Columbia and Laura Mitchell Mickelson (Kevin) of Lugoff; as well as her grandchildren, Kathleen Stewart, Sean Stewart, Lauren Mitchell, and Taylor Mitchell.

A memorial service for Ms. Mitchell will be held 5 o'clock Sunday, May 9th at her residence, 1204 Fredericksburg Drive South, Lugoff, SC.
