Carol Dianne Pearson, seventy, of Columbia, died on Friday, November 15, 2024. Born on May 24, 1954, in Fort Benning, Georgia, she was a daughter of Mary Alice Wadsworth Griffin and the late William Padon Griffin. Carol graduated from Lower Richland Highschool and married the late James Hobart Pearson Jr. She was employed in the accounting division of Wilbur Smith and Associates for over 30 years.

In addition to her Father, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Hobart Pearson Jr. Surviving family members include her son, Christopher Sean Pearson and daughter, Courtney Nicole Pearson, daughters-in-law, Adrienne Pearson and Kris Dennis; grandsons, James Hobart Pearson III (Tripp) and William Davis Pearson; mother, Mary Alice Wadsworth Griffin; sister, Angela Griffin Darby; brother-in-law, Harry Bates Darby Jr; nieces, Kristen Shea Darby and Katherine Morgan Darby Hendges (Kevin); nephew, Griffin Bates Darby (Meghan) and many extended family members.

She was a devoted and caring Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, daughter, and friend. She loved music, reading, playing cards and was an incredible listener. Her dry sense of humor, and sage advice will be especially missed by those who loved her. May her love live on in the hearts of those she touched.

The service for Mrs. Pearson will be held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, November 20th, in the Chapel at Greenhaven Persevere, 1701 Vanboklen Rd, Eastover, SC 29044. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Tuesday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
