Carolyn "Suzanne" Carruthers, 79, of Columbia, died Sunday, January 20, 2019. Born March 25, 1939, in Charleston, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Carruthers and Macel Davis.

Suzanne worked as an Investigator for the Department of Social Services, Child Support Enforcement Division. In her free time, she enjoyed judging cookoff's with the South Carolina Barbeque Association. Suzanne was a master Gardner and an animal lover, especially enjoying rescue and raise cats.

Survivors include her children, Elizabeth Carr Rudisill (Wesley O'Dell), Sandra Rudisill Burnett, Jennifer Rudisill Hudson (Steve), and Dorus "Chip" Paul Rudisill, III; grandchildren, Michael Stevenson Burnett, Christopher Thomas Burnett, Barbara Jayne Hudson, Zachary Paul Hudson, and Steven Joseph Hudson; great-grandchildren, Chloe Grace Burnett and Davis Michael Burnett; and her brother, Thomas Carruthers (Cara Tate).

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
