Carolyn G. Frick, 94, of Columbia, died Saturday, March 28, 2026. Born on November 17, 1931, in Piedmont, SC, she was the daughter of Thomas Dallis George and Annie Laurie Lindsey George.
As a Methodist minister’s daughter Carolyn lived all around the upstate of South Carolina as her father was assigned to various churches. She played field hockey and basketball at Columbia High School, attended Anderson Junior College, and was a hairstylist for a time. From there they moved to Marion, SC, where their second son, Mike was born, and then to Summerville, SC, where their daughter Katrina was born. Over the next 50 years while living in Columbia, she raised her three children and watched with admiration as her family grew with grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Carolyn enjoyed gardening and canning figs. She was the macaroni queen, as it was her staple dish for every family gathering and church event. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to share her skills with her family. Carolyn was involved with a bowling league, and liked to play badminton, cards, and cornhole. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church until its closure. Carolyn was a devoted caregiver to her mother and brother-in-law when they needed it most.
Survivors include her sons, James Stamey (Cindy Elaine) Frick, Bryan Michael (Michelle Evans) Frick; daughter, Katrina Elaine Frick; grandchildren, Julie Marie Taylor, Jonathan Paul (Sabrina D.) Frick, Abigail Sterling Frick and Taylor Raine Frick; great-grandchildren, Sean Taylor, Jayden Taylor, Owen James Frick, and Graham Alexander Frick; niece, Karen L. (David) Brandreth; brother-in-law, Douglas G. (Judy) Frick; as well as sisters-in-law, Freida A. McDuffie and Audrey Craft and extended family. She will be deeply missed by those lives she touched.
