Carolyn Brown Hodges, 82, of Columbia, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Born June 10, 1935, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Malachi Carl and Eliza Lurline Delk Brown.

A former member of Forest Lake Southern Methodist Church, she enjoyed traveling and bus excursions with Capitol Tours.

Survivors include her son, Mike Hodges (Julie); granddaughter, Victoria Swinton (Jeff); grandsons, Stephen Hodges and his family; Brett Daniels (Kayla); and great-grandchildren, Niaja Swinton, Rhianna Talbert, Summer Daniels, Trustin Swinton, Justus Mark Swinton and Brett Daniels, Jr. Also surviving are her brother, Carl Brown and sister, Jean Delk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Eugene Pete Hodges; and a son, Mark Edward Hodges.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hodges will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, June 17th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Interment will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Friday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel.
