Carolyn Brown Narr earned her heavenly wings on February 9, 2024. She peacefully passed surrounded by her family that loved her and supported her in her brave five-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Ms. Narr was born on July 29,1947 to Louis and Inez Brown in Columbia, SC. She attended Columbia High School, continuing her higher education at USC majoring in Nursing. Carolyn excelled during her 30 plus years of nursing at Baptist Medical Center. She was fondly remembered as a strong patient advocate and the nurse who still wore her nursing hat. She did so because of her great pride in doing what she loved most…helping others. Carolyn's many honors included Nurse of the Year, The Daisy Award, numerous letters of patient appreciation and a featured article in The State newspaper. Of all the hats Carolyn wore, her two favorites were Mom and Meme! Carolyn was a woman of faith with a strong conviction in God.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Marty Narr (Lisa), and Sherri Narr Graddick (Tommy); grandchildren, Danielle and Kayla; as well as her great-grandchildren, Lena Beth Sims and Jack Sims; and sister, Margaret (William) Watkins. Her Aunt, Allene Dabbs, as well as numerous family and friends will miss her smile, southern charm, infectious laughter, and love of butterflies. In addition to her parents, Ms. Narr was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Brown; grandson, Tyler; and grandson-in-law, Jeremy.
The funeral service for Ms. Narr will be held at 2 o'clock, on Monday February 12, 2024, at North Trenholm Baptist Church, 6515 North Trenholm Rd. Columbia, SC. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church beginning at 1 o'clock. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens 2603 Two Notch Road Columbia, SC.
