Carrie Virginia Hornsby, 87, of Lexington, died Sunday, June 21, 2020. Born in Greeleyville, SC. Virginia lived most of her life in Columbia, and was married to the late Milton E. Hornsby, Jr. She was proud of her children, loved her church, and was very involved in her Sunday School Class at North Trenholm Baptist Church. Granny was known as the social butterfly at Deepwood Estates by her many friends, as she was always kind, smiling and laughing. Granny was an avid shagger and shared her passion for the shag with family and friends alike up until her mid-80's.

Survivors include her three children, Tony E. Hornsby (Patricia L.), Barbara A. Brazell, Patricia L. Stevens (Laurin); eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at Southland Memorial Gardens on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 3:00 pm. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
