Mrs. Carrie Gresham Toplock, 98, of Blythewood, died Sunday, December 29, 2013. Born December 14, 1915 in Jones County, GA, she was a daughter of the late John Gresham and Sally Patsy Gresham.
A member of Sandy Level Baptist Church, she enjoyed taking care of people and loved being a nursing assistant. Mrs. Toplock had a tremendous gift as a seamstress.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Moore, Mary Patsy Lindler (Richard), Dorothy Padgett (Arthur), Linda Bills (Randy), Barbara Ryder (Gary); sons, John White (Rose), James Lane (Dale); sister, Fannie Conner Sims; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Toplock, Jr.; daughters, Bernice Shepherd, and Marion Millhouse; stepdaughter, Ivolene Judy; stepston, James White; along with nine brothers and sisters.
A funeral service for Carrie Gresham Toplock will be held at 2 o'clock, Tuesday, December 31st, at Sandy Level Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Stephen Gantt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 1 o'clock in the Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to Sandy Level Baptist Church, P.O.
