Catherine Bowen, 91, of Columbia, died on Friday, September 9, 2022. The graveside service will be held at 1 o'clock, Wednesday, September 14th, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with the Reverends Meegian Gossard and Douglas Benton officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Bowen was born in Columbia, SC, on December 1, 1930 and was a daughter of the late Albert Bryant and Docia Braziel Bowen. She was a faithful member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and served as their longest active member after joining on July 26,1942. She was a beloved member of Wellington community where she had many friends who cared for her and loved her dearly.

Mrs. Bowen was a member of MUV Fitness center where she enjoyed going daily to walk and meet friends. Following her retirement from Southern Bell, she became a member of the retiree group which met quarterly. Everyone that knew Mrs. Bowen was impacted by her life.

She is survived by a nephew, Larry Hill, of Augusta, GA; niece, Mary Gray of Horn Ball, TX; and great niece, Jennifer Mail, of Augusta, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Trudy Hill, Clyde, Norman, Rudy Bowen, and Linda Bowen.
