Cathy Rose Hoyle, 63, of Columbia, was called home on Sunday, June 28, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in New Orleans, LA and was a daughter of the late Clarence W. Hoyle and Rose Rauch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Hubert Bass.

Survivors include her nephew Jimmy F. Bass (LaRue); niece Debbie Bass Knox (Leland); great niece Kimberly Byers Quaiel (Michael); great nephews Brody Edward Byers, and Tyler Lee Bass.

Cathy worked for many years at Columbia Heart Clinic before pursuing her career in massage therapy. She was well known around the city of Columbia and the USC campus. Affectionally known and called "CatCat", she will truly be missed.

A funeral service for Cathy Rose Hoyle will be held 2 o'clock, Thursday, July 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday, July 1st at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock. The family is mindful of the issues of personal safety during this time of pandemic and invites anyone who cannot attend to watch the service online. The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington Oncology for the care they gave Cathy during her illness. A special thanks to Dr. Stillwell, whom was known as "Boss" by Cathy.
