Mrs. Celia E. Easler, 87, of Ridgeway, died Saturday, January 25, 2025. Born April 3, 1937, in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. Geiger and the late Minnie Louise Geiger.
Mrs. Easler was born and raised in the town of Dentsville. After graduating from Dentsville High School, she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Franklin D. Easler. Their 66 years of marriage were filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. A devoted mother, she put her children's well-being above all else, showering them with unconditional love. Mrs. Easler worked as a Computer Key Punch Operator at Blue Cross Blue Shield and various State Government Agencies, offering her assistance whenever it was needed. Known for her culinary skills, she had a gift for making sure anyone who walked into her home left with a full belly. Her compassion extended to animals as well, she had a heart for strays and always welcomed them into her home. Above all, Mrs. Easler was a deeply devoted Christian. Her daily Bible study was an essential part of her life, and she would ask for space when interrupted, as that time was sacred to her. She will be remembered as a loving wife, an extraordinary mother, and a caring grandmother and great grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Survivors include her children, Tammy Easler Sjodin (Rock) of Ridgeway, Teena Louise Easler of Asheville, NC, and Terry "Bubba" D. Easler (Debra L.) of Ridgeway; grandchildren, Addy W. Sjodin of Asheville, NC and Nelse Parker Sjodin (Sable) of Chapin; great grandson, Lincoln McCoy Sjodin; brother-in-law, Billy Hutto; sister-in-law, Wanda Geiger, and Liz Geiger; A special niece she provided care for as she grew up, Allison Geiger Kennedy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings, Maxine, Annette, Loyd, Vick, and Tim; niece, Shery Fasano; and a nephew, Quinn Geiger.
A private burial at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229, will take place at a later date.
