Charles "Toby" Harold Pedersen, 64, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024. Born in Heidelberg, Germany, on June 18, 1960, he was a son of the late Harold M. Pedersen and Rachel Johnson Pedersen.

He was the loving husband of 40 years to Cindy Daniels Pedersen. Toby graduated from Spring Valley High School and Midland Technical College. He was a dedicated Systems Troubleshooter at Michelin Tire for over 44 years, where he developed many lifelong friendships. He enjoyed woodworking and yardwork. Toby was a true southern gentleman, he was kind, loving, and never hesitated to go out of his way to help others. His greatest joy in life was spending quality time with his loved ones over a dinner or on a family trip. Toby had a passion for traveling, especially to different beaches around the world. He is fondly remembered for his witty sense of humor and ability to always bring a smile to those around him. Toby was loved and will be dearly missed by many.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Chelsea E. Pedersen; siblings, Peter M. Pedersen (Geni) and Stephanie "Penny" Pedersen; nephews, Matt Pedersen (Mikita) and Hal Pedersen (Angel); niece, Melissa "Missi" Pedersen; great nephew, Monroe; great nieces, Macey and Piper; as well as his beloved pets, Harry, Chloe, Charlie, and Kona. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Allison "Buffy" Pedersen.

The Celebration of Life for Mr. Pedersen will be held at 3 o'clock on Saturday, July 27th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. A reception at the Pedersen's residence will follow the service.
