Charles Bryan Jenkins

Charles Bryan Jenkins, 69, of Blythewood, died on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

In Charles’ younger days he enjoyed riding horses and playing softball. Later he became a long-distance truck driver, routinely driving from the East Coast to the West Coast. Also, for a period he was employed for Johnson Controls. Charles loved watching his favorite sports on TV and was an avid NASCAR fan who attended several races at the Darlington Raceway. He enjoyed trips to the beach and lake and above all he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In the most recent years his cousin David and wife, Vicki and their grandchildren, Allyson and Kyli Fulmer became his caregivers. He lived the duration of his life peacefully at home with his favorite animal companion, Maggie Mae.

Survivors include his daughter, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amanda Howell Jenkins; father, James Earl Jenkins; sister, Cathy Welch, and his nephew Lee Welch.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 o’clock, Friday, April 10th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC.
