Charles B. Mosser, 89, of Columbia, died on Sunday, July 31, 2022. Born in Bloomfield, IN, on January 23, 1933, he was a son of the late Henry Stevens Mosser and Emma Rose Hahn Mosser.
Mr. Mosser served in the Korean War as an Army cook and gunner. Charlie later owned and operated his own Lawn Service business.He loved to garden, cook, and tell a good joke. He enjoyed hosting and working with the Lions Club Youth Exchange program every summer for 12 years. One of his proudest memories was being one of the 2012 participants of the SC Honors Flight for those who served in the military.
He was a strong man of God and brother to James, Glen, Mary, Margaret, Henry, Barbara, Richard, Bernard and Robert.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Sims Mosser; children, David (Victoria), Donald, Michael (Ruthie); and step-daughter, Melinda (Willis); six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Judy Mosser.
He was beloved by all who knew him. We appreciate all the love and care shown to Charlie.
The funeral service for Mr. Mosser will be held at 12 o'clock, Wednesday, August 3rd, at Columbia Grace Church of the Nazarene, 5403 Pinestraw Road, Columbia, SC, 29206. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 11 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
