Sgt. Charles M. Ray Jr., US Army (Ret.) passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018 at his home in Columbia, S.C. Charles was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. Early in his career, Charles entered in the military at the age of 19. He served for 21 years before retirement, was employed at Bose for 10 years, and was actively in the Army Reserves until his death. Charles will be missed by his family.

A service for Sgt. Ray will be held 1 o'clock, Friday, February 23rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. Interment with military honors will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12 o'clock.
