Charles David Rickards, 51, of Swansea, died Friday, December 20, 2019. Born in Columbia, SC on September 7, 1968, he was the son of Phyllis Williams Hendricks and Brent Z. Hendricks.

David attended Columbia High School where he played football and baseball and later attended and graduated Richland Northeast High School where he also played baseball. David enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for many contractors in the Swansea/Gaston Area

Survivors include his mother Phyllis Williams Hendricks; his sisters, Tara Lang (Jason), Falynn Rickards; brother, Adam Rickards; nieces, Carolina and Olivia Lang; nephews Stanley Raulerson, Joshua and Caleb Lang; and special friend, Kelly Mack.

In addition to his biological father, William David Rickards, Jr., he is preceded in death by a sister, Teresa R. Raulerson; maternal grandparents, Charles and Alice Williams; paternal grandparents, James and Flossie Whiting.

The family will receive friends form 5 until 7 o'clock, Monday, December 23rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
