Mr. Charles Edward Scott, 79, of Elgin, died Saturday, December 28, 2013. Born May 23, 1934, in Downingtown, PA, he was a son of the late Charles and Stella McComsey Scott. Following his service in the U.S. Army, he worked for High Steel and Concrete until his retirement.

Survivors include his daughter, Gail Brazell; grandsons, Charles Brazell, and Scott Brazell (Candace); great-grandchildren, Lacey Brazell, and Scott Brazell, Jr.; and sister, Laura Stiendorf. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by sisters, Lillian Harple, Beatrice Wagner, Viola Steidler, Sara Gay; brother, James Scott; and son-in-law, Julius Brazell.

A graveside service for Mr. Scott will be held 11 o'clock, Tuesday, December 31st, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, with the Rev. Nancy Brazell officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at the family home, 717 Burmaster Dr., Columbia.
