Charles Edward Sisk, 90, husband of Mary Kirby Sisk, of Columbia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, September 2, 2024. Born November 15, 1933, in Danville, Virginia, he was a son of the late Enary John and Viola Funk Sisk. Charles served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Wells Fargo Armored Service and then worked for many years in Civil Service at Fort Jackson in the personnel department. He was an active member of North Trenholm Baptist Church until his declining health prevented him from attending.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Greg (Betty) and Tony (Angie); grandchildren, Hunter (Jordan), Parker (Kelly), Drew (Sally Ann), and Sierra; great grandchildren, Karlee, Huntly, Lo, and Vaughn. He also leaves behind Mary's sons, Tal Morgan (Brenda) and Tim Degroot (Mai); special sister-in-law, Anne Sisk and niece, Susan, that visited Charles and Mary every week, and his sister, Ollie Baxter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Enary Sisk, Jr. and Reverend John Sisk; sisters, Louise Knecht, Ginny Phillips, and Lib Tompkins.
The family would like to offer their love and sincere appreciation to the sweet ladies at Waterstone on Augusta Memory Care and the entire staff at McCall Hospice House for taking such great care of PaPa Sisk.
The graveside service for Mr. Sisk will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, September 7th at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Ave, Columbia, SC.
