Obituary

Charles Thomas "Tom" Medlin, 82, of Camden, died on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Born on December 27, 1941, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Woodrow Thomas and Cora Bell Hammond Medlin. Tom served his country honorably in the United States Air Force SAC Elite Guard. He was a graduate of Dentsville High School, Class of 1961. Tom loved his wife and children deeply. He was a wonderful Pawpaw to all his grandchildren. In his free time, Tom loved to be on the water as an avid fisherman and enjoyed working on brotherhood projects at his home church of Sawney's Creek Baptist Church. Tom was a heavy equipment specialist who owned and operated Equipment Repair, Inc. for over 40 years. He will be deeply missed; however, we know that he is rejoicing with Our Lord and Savior. Tom's heart was for the Lord and for all to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Anne Medlin; daughters, Brenda Grigsby (Marion) of Elgin, Lori Cooper (James) of Columbia, and Joanie Kirkland (Danny "D.J.") of Elgin. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Sarah Etters (Matthew) of Lugoff, Abigail Kirkland of Elgin, Jordyn Cooper of Columbia, Gabriel Kirkland of Elgin, and Jadyn Cooper of Columbia, as well as his great grandchildren, Emma Etters, Ethan Etters, and Eric Etters all of Lugoff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sherri Lynn Medlin and siblings, James Hammond, Woodrow Allen, Frances Summerton, and Dale Louise Brazzel.
