Charlotte O. DeArville Barker, 94, of Columbia, died Saturday, September 23, 2017. Born July 20, 1923 in Methuen, MA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Orene DeArville. She was a hard worker, enjoyed gardening, and volunteering.

Survivors include her son, Joe Mona (Lauretta); grandchildren, Marcus Mona, and Meredith Mona (Richard Nichols); and great-granddaughter, Glorianna Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Barker; and sister, Frances Greer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Barker will be Celebrated 10 o'clock, Friday, September 29th at Transfiguration Catholic Church with The Rev. Msgr. James L. LeBlanc officiating. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will be held at Memorial Gardens of Columbia. Memorials may be made to Transfiguration Catholic Church Building Fund, 9720 Wilson Blvd, Blythewood, SC 29016. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
