Chlorie Steedly Martin, 76, of Columbia, died Monday, December 10, 2012. Born March 10, 1936, in Bamberg, SC, she was a daughter of the late George B. and Lessie Wooley Steedly. Chlorie was a member of Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Rhett (Karen) Martin of Anderson, SC; daughter, Judy Martin of Columbia; grandson, Andrew N. Martin of Anderson; granddaughter, Katherine E. Martin of Charlotte; brother, Lawrence (Kay) Steedly of Gilbert; and sister, Thelma Modlin of Glen Bernie, MD. In addition to her parents, Chlorie was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Oliver Martin; brothers, Malcolm, Francis and George Steedly.

The funeral service for Mrs. Martin will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, December 14, 2012, at Hope Baptist Church, 2117 Clemson Rd, with The Rev. Trey Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family.
