West Columbia – Chris John Barrie, 64, of West Columbia, died Monday, March 23, 2015. Mr. Barrie was born June 24, 1950, in Bayonne, NJ, and graduated from Neptune High School, Neptune, NJ. He earned a degree in Economics and Accounting from Rutgers University in 1977. Mr. Barrie moved to Columbia in 1980 where he worked for Policy Management Systems as a sales representative which took him to Wimbledon, England. He sold software systems to the insurance industry in Europe and the US. Chris moved back to Columbia in 1994 and retired in 2008. He enjoyed playing tennis, fishing and golf.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Sullivan Barrie; step-son, Urijah Corbett of Columbia, step-daughter, Jessica Mirth (Kevin) of Melbourne Beach, FL; grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Mirth; sisters, Donna Marie Barrie Kelly (Larry) of Oceanport, NJ, Joy Ann Barrie of Neptune City, NJ, and his brother, Joseph Roger Barrie (Karen) of Brick Township, NJ. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Peter and Ann Veronica Kasper Barrie as well as his sister, Anmarie Barrie Honan.

A memorial mass for Mr. Barrie will be celebrated 11 o'clock, Friday, March 27th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3600 Devine St, Columbia, with The Rev. Father Matthew Gray officiating. A reception will follow at the family's home.
