Christie (Chris) Larry Brown, 80, of Elgin, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, on September 7, 1944, he was a son of the late Christie Douglas and Myrtis Medlin Brown. Mr. Brown was self-employed as a carpenter for many years where his craftsmanship remained in demand throughout a successful career. He served his community selflessly, especially the elderly, and enjoyed being active in his Church, Spears Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Brown deeply loved his family and was always a constant support in the lives of children, particularly his own grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Turney Brown; children, Virginia Bove (Eric), Barbara Kramer, and Kevin Brown (Krissy); stepsons, Thomas, Michael, and Robert and their families; a son-in-law, Mark Charles McCall, III; grandchildren, Wesley Ramer (Sara Elizabeth), Lindsay Hernandez (Juan), Jeremy Bove, Molly McCall, Macy McCall; great-grandchildren, Bailee, Charlee, Emillie, Taycee, and Cooper; as well as his siblings, Billy Brown and Johnny Brown.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Evelyn Brown; daughter, Angela Brown McCall; son-in-law, Al Kramer; and siblings, Douglas Brown, Thomas Brown, and Jean Maxwell.

The funeral service for Mr. Brown will be held at 3 o'clock, Saturday, May 31st, at Spears Creek Baptist Church, 116 Spears Creek Church Ln., Elgin, SC. The family will receive friends starting at 1 o'clock until 3 o'clock, prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow at Logue Cemetery, 1020 Toms Creek Rd Hopkins, South Carolina.
