Christopher Young Register, 37, of Columbia, died Thursday, December 14, 2023. Born May 14, 1986, in Columbia, South Carolina, he is the son of John William Register and Frances Young Register. Chris enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially trips to mountain ranges like the Appalachian Mountains. He particularly loved to hike, camp, and listen to music. He was also an accomplished musician and seasoned drummer. Chris was a lifelong member of Shandon Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Mandy Abrams (Greg) and his brother, Tripp Register (Laura). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Camden Abrams, Landon Abrams, Sarah Manning Abrams, Hannah Katherine Abrams, Bruner Register, John Michael Register, and Luke Register. Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Leigh Moulder Register.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 2:30 PM in The Chapel of Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC. The family will greet friends at The Chapel beginning at 1:30 PM. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
