Obituary

Mr. Clarence Levon Todd, 79, of Elgin, died Saturday, January 16, 2016. Born in Conway, SC on November 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Arthur Woodrow Todd, Sr. and Verlie Cassellman Todd. Clarence was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the US Marine Corps and the US Navy until retirement as a Chief Petty Officer. He carried his experience as a military dining facility manager into a second career as a Food Service Director III for the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

Clarence is survived by his daughter, Wanda "Susie" (Sonny) Ariail; sons, Troy (Tammy) Todd, Stephen (Kristi) Todd, Paul "Scottie" (Wendy) Todd; grandchildren, Austin (Ashley) Ariail, Ryan (Annette) Ariail, Corbin Ariail, Gabrielle (John) Watson, Kassidy Todd, Carle Todd, Brandon Todd, Lacey Todd, Bailey Todd, Heather Cooke, and Josh Walters; great-grandchildren, Bennett Ariail, Elena Ariail, Emma Watson, Liam Todd, Emmalyn Cooke, Willow Walters, and Robbie Watson; sister, Linda Geddings; as well as many nieces and nephews; and special pets, Peanut and Biscuit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Delk Todd; sister, Mary Frances Nance; and brother, Oneal Cassellman.

A funeral service for Mr. Todd will be held at 3 o'clock, Tuesday, January 19th, at Spears Creek Baptist Church, 116 Spears Creek Church Road, Elgin, with Pastor Greg Sweet and The Rev. Sonny Ariail officiating. Burial with full Navy honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 7 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Exn., Columbia.
