Cleta Fern True Long, 82, of Columbia and formerly of Longview, TX, died on Friday, October 25, 2024. Born on February 8, 1942, in Forestburg, TX, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Laverne True and Rosa Irene Robeson True. Throughout her life Ms. Long had a fondness for horses and all other animals. While residing in Longview, TX, she was employed by Kimbrough Animal Hospital and attended Mobberly Baptist Church. In July of 2024 Ms. Long relocated to Columbia, SC, to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
Survivors include her children, Jeffrey David Long (Karen Denise) of Hallsville, TX and Karen DeLine (Steve) of Columbia, SC. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Hali McCurdy of Hendersonville, TN, Ali DeLine of Columbia, SC, Kristen Long Culver (David) of Omaha, NE, and Kelli Long of Hallsville, TX as well as her great grandchildren, Rylee Emma Culver and Jax David Culver of Omaha, NE. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Mrs. Long's illness . Everyone gave excellent care and comfort for her well-being.
