Clinton "Clint" Matthew Ross, 56, passed away on Wednesday, 28 July 2021, in Columbia, SC. He earned his "Angel Wings" after succumbing to an extended illness while in the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center. Clint was born on 19 August 1964 in Kenner US Army Hospital at Fort Lee, Virginia to CSM Irving Edwin "Ted" and Wilma Jean Stewart Ross.
Clint was a graduate of Spring Valley High School in 1983 and attended Midlands Technical College in Columbia. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a loving and kind man of few words and will be remembered for his thoughtfulness of others. Clint enjoyed building model airplanes and was an avid Minnesota Vikings football fan and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved them.
Survivors include his parents; brother, Nathan Wendell Ross (Beth) of Columbia, SC; sister, Kathryn Lora Ross of Lexington, SC; nephew, Zeke Pickett Ross; and niece, Madison "Maddie" Stewart Ross, whom he loved dearly. Clint is also survived by his uncle, John Stewart (Ann) of Lexington, KY; aunt, Brenda Stinnett (Steve) of Knoxville, TN. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Irving and Marjorie Jeanette Leggett Ross of Suwannee County, FL and maternal grandparents James Ralph and Gladys Marie Gilley Stewart of Alcoa, TN.
The family would like to thank his "Special Caregiver" NP Rebecca Fullam for the wonderful care she provided during his illness. Along with the staff of the "Warrior's Walk" program for the care they provided Clint and the kindness shown to the family after his passing.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 4th, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext Columbia, SC. The service will follow at 2 o'clock. A private burial will take place.
