Obituary

Steve has been given admission thru the Gates of Heaven. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. Born June 9, 1949, in St. Petersburg, FL, Steve earned his angel's wings to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2020 after extended illnesses. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul F. Felsberg, III and Elizabeth M. Felsberg; brother Paul F. Felsberg, IV; and nephew, 2nd Lt. P. Michael Felsberg. Surviving are his bride of 47 years, Mary Lynn Felsberg; daughter, Beth Gunter (Allen), son, Charles Felsberg, all of Columbia.

Steve was a loving husband, father, and friend to all he knew and encountered, including all the animals. He loved Law Enforcement, auctions, antiquing, singing, his family, and the Lord.
Steve was employed at the Richland County Sheriff's Department from 1971-1994 and retired as Command Sgt. Major. He also worked at the SC State Fair from 1996-2015 as Director of Safety and Security. Steve was a member of the The Huguenot Society of SC, the Founding Families of the State of SC, The National Huguenot Society and previously Palmetto Mastersingers.

Services and a memorial will be held at a later due to Covid-19. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boys Farm of Newberry, Wounded Warrior Project, or a charitable organization of one's choice. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
