Obituary

CW5 James Robert "Bobby" Mooneyham, US Army (Ret.), 73, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Born in Columbia, South Carolina on April 20, 1950, he was a son of the late James Ray Mooneyham and Lucile Tindall Mooneyham. Bobby was the loving husband of 43 years to Glenda Jackson Mooneyham. He was a humble servant of God and lived his life serving his Savior and sharing the love of Christ. A caring, godly man, he touched and blessed so many through his singing in the Men's Chorus at Crossroads Baptist Church in West Columbia, SC.

Bobby graduated from Eau Claire High School and earned his bachelor's degree in business from Coker University. He proudly served in the United States Army and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 5. Bobby was a member of the American Legion Post 130 and the National Guard Association. He was an avid USC Gamecocks fan who enjoyed watching football, baseball, and basketball. In his free time, Bobby enjoyed fishing, eating seafood, and walking on the beach. He was a devout family man and took great pride in his grandchildren. Bobby had a kind, gentle yet disciplined heart and to know him was to love him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Marie Mooneyham (Mark Kirlough), Stacie Sox (Brad), Kathy Mooneyham (Lester Sharpe) and Jason Mooneyham; 6 grandchildren, Camden, Brooke, Vincent, Heather (Andrew), Wesley, and Seanacee; siblings, Ray D. Mooneyham (Carolyn) and Mary Lou Jackson (Richard). He is preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Prisma Health Richland's Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) for the exceptional care shown toward Bobby during these difficult times.
