A celebration of the life of Dale Eugene Russell, 81, will be held Saturday, September 24th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel.

Dale is the last surviving son of Clifford and Ophelia Russell. He was raised on the beach of Galveston, Texas. He was a Navy Veteran, where he was an Aircraft Mechanic, whose years took him to Iceland, Spain, and ended up on a ship bound for Cuba in the Bay of Pigs incident.

In South Carolina he ended up working with Johnson Controls and Aircond Corp. but found his niche at Richland County Main Library where he retired at age 79.

Survivors left behind include his wife of 47 years, Terrie Wyman Russell of Columbia, a son, Darrell Benton Russell of Lexington, a daughter, Pam (Earl) Livingston of Elgin, a son in law, Ben Strickland of Lexington, three sister in-laws, Gloria Russell of Tyler, Texas, Cindy Huggins and Mitzi (CW) Shipman, both of Columbia, our precious grandchildren Shanon, Bridget, Sailor, Jace Riley, and Ryder Campbell, Matthew (Angela), Savannah, Chase, and Tyler Durant, Courtney Livingston, Eli Russell, and Amelia Lecher. Those who passed but always in our hearts and memory, his parents, two brothers Dewayne and Jackie, and daughter Traci Strickland.
