Danny R. Elkins, 73, of Columbia, died on Sunday, August 8, 2021. Born on November 11, 1947 in Shady Springs, West Virginia, he was a son of the late O'dell E. Elkins and Madeline Freeman Elkins.

Mr. Elkins graduated from Shady Springs High School and went on to work in automobile repair as an autobody technician. He enjoyed sports and coaching youth football, baseball, and basketball.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kim Elkins; daughter, Tesa Bontrager (Dave); sons, Joseph (Hailey), Zachary (Margaret), and Tyler Elkins; grandchildren, Lance, Bethalynn, and Lillian Bontrager, Skylar Elkins; great grandchild, Malikai Bontrager; sisters, Phyllis Green (Londa), Alice White (Grady); along with a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret "Peggy" Elkins; along with his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Park.
