Daphne Redding's Obituary

Daphne Stubbs Redding, 73, of Columbia, passed away at 3:35 pm, Friday, August 31, 2012 of thyroid cancer.

Born March 31, 1939 in Fairmont, NC, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Jeanette Lovette Stubbs. Mrs. Redding was a graduate of the University of Louisville (KY), and more recently, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. From 1988 until 2012, she was a chaplain and musical instrumentalist with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health in Columbia, and was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church.

Surviving are her loving husband of 27 years, David Redding; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Plott; sister-in-law, Virginia Stubbs; three nephews and one niece, all of Lumberton, NC.
The funeral service for Mrs. Redding will be held at 10:30 o'clock, Tuesday, September 4th at Eau Claire Baptist Church with The Rev. James A. Goudelock and The Rev. Kelly Strum officiating. Interment service will be held at 3 o'clock in the New Hollywood Cemetery, Lumberton, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Monday evening at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia.
