Daryl Kevin Rockwell, 71, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was born on November 29, 1954, in Syracuse, New York, and was the son of the late Robert Thomas "Rocky" Rockwell and Dawn Elaine Baxter Rockwell.
Daryl spent his childhood and young adult years in Ormond Beach, Florida. After marrying the love of his life, they relocated to Port Orange, where they raised their children and lived until retiring in 2019. In retirement, he split his time between Chesterfield, Virginia, and Beech Mountain, North Carolina.
Mr. Rockwell was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He loved college football, especially as a diehard Florida Gators fan and rarely missed a game, especially on Saturdays, when he enjoyed watching football with his dogs at his side. He also enjoyed carpentry, classic rock, and surfing.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Judith Marlene Rockwell; his children, Chelsea Urquhart (Ric), Kevin Rockwell (Kristel), and Richard Yaxley; his siblings, Autumn Doulong (David) and Robby Rockwell; as well as many nieces and nephews; and his cousins, Linda Bush and Brenda Libner; and brother-in-law, Ronnie O'Shields (Betty Jean).
Services for Mr. Rockwell will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church at 100 Polo Rd. Columbia, SC, on January 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
The family is staying at Linda Bush's home, 211 Pebble Creek Dr., Columbia, SC.
