David Colie Brazell, Sr., 73, of Gilbert, South Carolina, died on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Born on February 26, 1953, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Colie and Margaret Brazell. Mr. Brazell worked in grocery retail sales for BI-LO, Piggly Wiggly, and Winn Dixie. He enjoyed gardening and going on car rides with his dog.

Survivors include his sons, Daniel Brazell and David Brazell, Jr.; daughter, Cheryle Stewart (Danny); brothers, Richard Brazell (Teresa), James Brazell, and Mark Brazell (Pearly) as well as his 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

The service honoring Mr. Brazell's life will be held at 2 o'clock, Monday, March 2rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC, 29203. The burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC, 29204.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 12 o'clock.
