David Alan Laughead, 68, of Elgin, died Friday, December 9, 2022. Born September 22, 1954, in Jacksonville, FL, he was a son of the late JC Roy and Mary Rogers Laughead. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Laughead was employed as a route salesman with Frito-Lay. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar. Mr. Laughead spent his spare time gardening and watching NASCAR.

Survivors include his three sons, David Michael Laughead (Krystal) of Kernersville, NC, Jeremy Lee Laughead (Mary) of Lugoff, and Benjamin Alan Laughead (Rebecca) of Camden; grandchildren, Ransom Laughead, Spencer Laughead, and Libby Laughead; brother, Scott Laughead (Susie); sister, Kandy Shealy (Andy); aunt, Sondra "Aunt Sonie" Laughead; as well as his two pet cats, Meanie and Willie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Christine Caughman Laughead and brother, Kurtis Laughead.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
