David Eugene Shawen, 58, of Columbia, died Sunday, March 20, 2016. Born October 21, 1957 in Killeen, TX, he was a son of Margaret Sara Pate Shawen and the late Robert L. Shawen. He was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, David leaves behind a brother, Robert M Shawen; and a sister, Barbara Ann Sears. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1 o'clock, Thursday, March 24th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd. Ext, Columbia. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
