Debra Grooms Hancock, 68, of West Columbia, died Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Born March 5, 1952, in Hartsville, SC, she was a daughter of Florence Elizabeth Sharpley and the late Grady Beauford Grooms. Debra attended Midlands Technical College and spent her life in the service industry.

Survivors include her husband, James Hancock; daughters, Lucy White, Cindy Kestner and Jessica Peeples (Travis); granddaughters, Amanda Driggers (Brandon), McKenzie Browder, Kyrstin Peeples; grandsons, Chris Goff, Josh Busbee (Rebecca), Landon Peeples, Bentley Hite, Hayden Peeples, Maverick Peeples; great grandson, Landon Driggers; and great granddaughters, Gabrielle Driggers and Aubree Busbee; sisters, Darlene Merrell, Nancy Plaia (Lucky), Lisa Rochefort (Darryl); brothers, Ken Sharpley, Roy Sharpley, and Billy Grooms (Becky). In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Andrea "Bootsie" White, and Donnell Anderson.

In keeping with Mrs. Hancock's wishes, the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
