Demeris Jane Dill Maner, 76, of Columbia, died Friday, September 4, 2020. Born in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Donald Brockman and Mildred Rhymer Dill. Demeris graduated from Byrnes High School in Spartanburg and The University of South Carolina with a degree in Nursing. Her family of two sons and two grandchildren were always her priority. She spent 28 years in psychiatric nursing with the Department of Mental Health and six years in teaching at Midlands Technical College, which was a great joy for her.

Survivors include her sons, James W. Maner, III, and Christopher "Heath" Maner (Sarah); grandchildren, Gillian Maner, Jake Maner; sister, Myra Belcher (Larry); aunt, Mary Ellen Miller; former daughter-in-law, Vonda Maner; nephews, Todd Miller (Tammy), Tony Miller (Stacey); her beloved cat, Willow, and three grandcats, Boo, Luna, and Nala. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her former husband, James Wilson Maner, Jr.; and her aunt, Edith White.

A service will be held at 4 o'clock, Saturday, September 12th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends following the service.
