Mrs. Dixie Carol Francis Wright, 70, of Columbia, formerly of Springfield, VA, died Sunday, August 18, 2019. A daughter of the late Robert E. and Kathryn Marie Ward Francis, she was married to Wayne Leonard Wright for 44 years. Dixie loved her family, church, and friends. She put others first and volunteered her time with numerous organizations. When Dixie was not volunteering, she enjoyed reading books.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her sons, Caleb Wright (Ashley), Nathanael Wright, Zachery Wright (Elizabeth), Joseph Wright; grandchildren, Gabrielle Wright, Joshua Wright, Josiah Wright; and brother, Scott Francis (Jackie). She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

A service will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, August 24th, in Smith Chapel at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church atrium. Burial will be 12 o'clock, Monday, August 26th, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
