Dolores Moses DiMaria, 85, of Columbia, SC died on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Born in Columbia, SC, on October 3, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Isaac and Idell Koosa Moses. Ms. DiMaria was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church for many years and enjoyed serving others.

Ms. DiMaria was a graduate of Ursuline High School and the University of South Carolina. After graduating from USC, she began a career in journalism and briefly lived in Washington, D.C. until she met and married Angelo DiMaria. After their marriage, the couple moved to New Jersey and then back to Columbia, SC. Ms. DiMaria worked for the University of South Carolina for many years as administrative assistant in the USC Speech and Hearing Clinic.

Ms. DiMaria actively volunteered with the Animal Protection League until her health prevented her from doing so. She was also involved in helping with various local Catholic charities – St. Vincent de Paul Society and Clean of Heart Center.

Survivors include her sons, Sean DiMaria (Ebanreb), Michael J. DiMaria (Rachel), of Chapin, SC and of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Victoria; and sister, Marguerite O'Jalvio (Sam), of Blythewood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Andre Bernard, Gloria Moses, and Stephen Moses.

A Funeral Mass of Catholic burial for Ms. DiMaria will begin at 12 o'clock, Saturday, November 11th, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 2225 Hampton St, Columbia, SC 2920. Final commendation and farewell prayers will be said at St. Peter's Cemetery following the Mass. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
