Dolores Ann Gantt, 81 of Columbia, passed on to be with the Lord on May 30th, 2022.
Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, Mrs. Gantt was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Rinehart and wife of the late Gerald O'Neal Gantt Sr.
She was an orthopedic registered nurse for over 20 years at Richland Memorial Hospital where she cared for many people and loved her work. As a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church in Columbia, she participated in Focus Women's ministry from its inception in 2004 and volunteered with Focus Children's ministry for 10 years.
She loved her family deeply. Her grand and great grandchildren were a great joy in her life. Known as "Gma", her home was always the gathering place for family. Gma loved to laugh and always saw the good in people.
Mrs. Gantt is survived by her children: Pamela Moreland, Gerald Gantt Jr (Cindy), and Sharon Rosenberger (Randy), and her "daughter in love" Sheila Gantt; grandchildren: Lazarus Moreland whom she raised, Christopher Sutton (Gabriel), Phillip Moreland, Emily Moreland (Justin), Lily Johnson, Ferris Downs, Candace Floyd (Darik), Jeremy Gantt (Brittany), Chelsea Pike (Tyler), Summer Bishop (Tim), Joshua Rosenberger, Nathan Rosenberger, and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gantt was preceded in death by her brother Charles Rinehart Jr, her sister Mary Francis Grover and grandson John Gerald Gantt.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30am, Monday June 6th at Northeast Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at 10:00 prior to the service. Burial will take place at Fort Jackson National Cemetery following the service. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northeast Presbyterian Church to support missions.
