Donald Marchell Foxworth

Donald M. Foxworth, 81, of Columbia, South Carolina, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we rejoice in the assurance that he has heard the words he longed to hear throughout his life: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)

Born on March 2, 1945, in Orangeburg SC, Don was the son of Roy and Mabel Foxworth. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in Riverside California while in the Air Force serving in Strategic Air Command. Answering God's call to ministry, he faithfully served as a Church of God Pastor for many years, sharing the Gospel, shepherding congregations, comforting those in need, and pointing countless people to Christ. Although he later retired from active ministry, he never retired from his faith or his desire to encourage others.

Beyond the pulpit, Don, a man of integrity, was known as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, great grandfather, and faithful friend. Don was well known as a generous gardener who loved to give away the fruit of his efforts. His love language was cooking and watching people enjoying each meal. He led not only through his words but through his example of kindness, humility, generosity, and unwavering trust in God. His family remembers him for his wisdom, gentle spirit, sense of humor, and the love he freely gave to everyone around him.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading his Bible, praying for others, and sharing stories of God's faithfulness throughout his life. His greatest joy was seeing his children, grandchildren, and future generations grow in faith and character.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thelma N. Foxworth; his children Brian Foxworth (Christina), Lisa Foxworth, and Susie Campbell (Michael); grandchildren Cass Foxworth, Seth Boone (Elizabeth Filaseta Boone), Megan Foxworth, and Ella Pearl Campbell; great-grandchildren David, Henry, and Rowan Filaseta-Boone and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were blessed by his life and ministry.

He was preceded in death by parents Roy and Maybel Foxworth, and siblings Shirley, Betty, Darrel, Billy, and William.

A celebration of his life will be held at Northside Baptist Church West Campus, 742 Kitti Wake Dr, West Columbia, SC 29170 on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 11am, with Pastor Terrance Harris officiating. Visitation to follow.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has prayed for, visited, and supported them during this time of loss. Your kindness and love have been a great comfort.

Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life faithfully lived and a race well run. As the Apostle Paul wrote:
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness..." (2 Timothy 4:7–8)

Until we meet again (To be absent in this body is to be present with the Lord), his legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
