Donald James Peyton, 65, of Elgin, died Thursday, September 27, 2018. Born on December 11, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, he was a son of Harry E. Peyton and the late Bonnie Peyton. Affectionately known by "Papaw", he was an inspiration.

Survivors include his wife, Lee Miller Peyton; daughter, Amber Peyton Hancock (Ashley); a son, Michael Shane Peyton; grandsons, Blake Smith and Ashton Cade Hancock; siblings, Becky Griffin, Richard Peyton, Harry Peyton, and Alice Peyton.

The service for Mr. Peyton will be held 4 o'clock, Saturday, September 29th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
