Donna Nimmons Rose, 61, of Lugoff, died on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Born January 16, 1962, in Seneca, SC, she was a daughter of the late James William and Mary C. McCoy Nimmons. Mrs. Rose was the matriarch of her family and a proud homemaker for many years. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially when she had the opportunity to care for, and spoil her grandchildren. After she raised her family, Mrs. Rose was employed by Wal-Mart, where she managed the photoshop department. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Northeast.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, SFC Thomas W. Rose, US Army (Ret.); sons, Jeffrey Wade Duke (Christopher) of Elgin, Michael Anthony Rose (Cheryl) of Elgin, and Brandon Wayne Rose (Katherine) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Alexander Rose, Aubrey Rose, Lillian Rose, Lawson Duke, Benjamin Rose, and Lorelai Rose; sisters, Cathy Butakis of Simpsonville, SC and Diane Kelly of Anderson, SC, as well as countless nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry, Terry, and Michael Nimmons.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, October 23rd at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 22nd at the funeral home.
