Doris Fipps Boatwright

Doris Fipps Boatwright, 76, of North Augusta, SC, formerly of Columbia, died on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Born in Horry County, SC, on July 20, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Louella Fowler Fipps.

Mrs. Boatwright was a nurse for over 30 years, dedicating much of her life to caring for others. Doris had a generous heart that touched the lives of those around her. She will also be remembered for her wonderful sense of adventure and the laughter she brought to family and friends. She enjoyed crafting, fishing, but most of all spending time with her family and beloved dog, Sugar Bear.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas J Boatwright who passed away in 2013.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Boatwright of North Augusta, Sc, Thomas Mack Boatwright and wife Ginamrie of Appling, Ga; her sisters, Linda Kirk, and Kathy Nelson; granddaughter, Cassandra DeNio; great grandchildren, Autumn Sumrow and Kaylee DeNio as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Boatwright will be held at 11 o’clock, Thursday, September 17th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 10 o’clock.
