Doris Simpson Little, 92, of Columbia, died Sunday, November 18, 2018. Born on February 4, 1926, in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late George Spence Simpson, Sr. and Helen Weddle Simpson. Mrs. Little was a woman of deep faith and was a charter member of Northeast Presbyterian Church. While attending Northeast Presbyterian, she was involved in the Friendship Class, Circle of Faith, formerly taught Sunday school, and served in several positions within the Women of the Church. Her greatest joy in life was her family and Mrs. Little especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for more than 30 years as an auditor with the IRS. When she wasn't with her family or involved in her church duties, Mrs. Little enjoyed sewing, playing bridge and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Terri Little Bailey (Gilly), Larry S. Little (Debbie) and Robert "Bob" H. Little (Barbara) all of Columbia; grandchildren, Bob E. Little, L. Spence Little, Jr., Ashley Little, Christopher Little, Will Bailey, Austin Bailey, and Ryan Bailey; great-grandchildren, Reese Little, Mason Little, Gibson Little, Elizabeth Little, Riley Little, Charlotte Little, and Haven Little; a sister, Mary Ann Scawthorn of Florida; and a brother, William W. Simpson of Texas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.O. "Bubba" Little; sister, Betty S. Neilson; and brother, George S. Simpson, Jr.

The funeral service for Mrs. Little will be held Wednesday, November 21 at 12 o'clock at Northeast Presbyterian Church, 601 Polo Road in Columbia, SC with Dr. George D. Crow, III officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock in the church Atrium. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
