Dorothy Driggers Carroll, 86, of Columbia, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 in Summerville, SC. Born August 26, 1933 in Bennettsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Nathaniel L. and Madie L. Quick Driggers.
Mrs. Carroll moved from Bennettsville to Columbia and decided to make it her home after meeting her future husband, Clyde Macon "Bill" Carroll. She was a very hard worker and highly devoted to her family. Mrs. Carroll enjoyed cooking for friends and family, as well as going to yard sales. She was affectionately known as, "Mama Dot", to all her loving grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Survivors include her sons, Richard D. Carroll and Clyde M. Carroll, Jr. of Columbia; daughter, Janet C. Potts of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Melissa Mitchum (Mark), James Potts (Laura), Heidi Carroll, and Shane Carroll; and great-grandchild, Andrew Mitchum. Mrs. Carroll is also survived by her siblings, Willard Quick (Sue) of Bennettsville, SC, Elizabeth "Libby" Watts (Dan) of West Columbia, SC, and Nathine Gainey of Macon, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Macon "Bill" Carroll; siblings, Henry "Buddy" K. Quick, Margaret McDowell, and Erlene Grisham.
