Dorothy "Dot" Cook, 85, of Columbia, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Born May 28, 1928, in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Beulah Dawkins Cook. Dot worked at FW Woolworth's for many years, and was a member of South Beltline Baptist Church.

Survivors include nieces and caregivers, Jo Anne (Ross) Driggers of Columbia; Pat Kanipe and Lucy Woodard of West Columbia; sister-in-law, Dot J. Cook of Charlotte, NC; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her four sisters and two brothers.

The funeral service for Miss Cook will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, May 10th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia. Burial will follow at Olympia Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
