Dorothy "Dot" Elizabeth Enlow, 88, of Blythewood, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Born in Strother, SC, on January 13, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Lizzie Eleazer Stoudemire. Of all the pleasures in her life, Dot's greatest pleasure was being Ma Dot to Scott, who called her the light of his life, Grum to Luke and Gram to Levi. She always claimed that she couldn't sing but loved to "Make a Joyful Noise". One of her favorite song lyrics was "I'm Just an Old Chunk of Coal but I'll Be a Diamond One Day." Now, she is shining bright as a diamond.
Survivors include sons, Doug (Susan) Enlow of Lexington, Jerry (Deborah) Enlow; daughter, Lisa (Larry) Davis, all of Blythewood; grandchildren, Christopher (Michele) Enlow, Scott (Angel) Enlow, Luke and Levi Davis; great grandchildren, Brianna and Micaela Enlow; and many nieces and nephews, including her "other daughters", Linda Watson, Vicki Johnson; and her "granddaughter", grandniece, Morgan Johnson; siblings, Pete (Martha Jean), Richard (Gale), and Carroll (Sandra) Stoudemire. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband and true love,
George Alvin Enlow; an infant daughter; and brothers, Charles and Russell Stoudemire.
The funeral service for Mrs. Enlow will be held 2 o'clock, Thursday, October 29th, at Capers Chapel, United Methodist Church, 463 Capers Chapel Rd, Newberry, with The Rev. Daniel Eplee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Stoudemire, Tommy Stoudemire, Jeremy Stoudemire, Christopher Watson, Brandon Watson, Lee Johnson and Ray Repko. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Wednesday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia.
