A private service for Mrs. Dorothy Hood Kearse was held Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Born in Richland County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ollie N. and Cora Mae Newman Hood. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.
Survivors include her children, Wyman and Valerie; grandson, Stephen Sturkie; and two great grandchildren.
